Panglao Bohol, Philippines

My husband and I went to the Philippines for a holiday last December where we celebrated Christmas and New year with my family in Albuera, Leyte, Philippines. We've also visited other cities and been to beach resorts. So here is a photo shoot we made in one of our island trips. This was in Panglao Island in Bohol.

By the way, I am loving this cool sunnies I just bought from the souvenir shop in the resort we stayed. It's not branded or something cos I bought it for a cheap price but I really like it.

White Sunday

As a Catholic, Sunday is the time to go to church and be blessed. Spend that little time to at least give thanks to all the graces received and ask forgiveness for the sins done. For me, it is also a kind of service since I am a member of church choir in which we are also honored to be invited to sing to other churches here in Belgium. Singing has also been my passion, though I am not really a pro but I just love to serve and make other people happy.

So for this look, it's about wearing all white. Our group has different sorts of costumes to wear and for this occasion we just went for a subtle look, although we still actually wore a red shawl over.

This outfit I am wearing is from H&M. The top I just recently purchased and I am really loving the lace detail. You can see, I kinda zoom it in one of the photos.

To the Beach

Hey guys :)
Last week my husband and I went to the beach here in Belgium which is around 40 minutes drive from where we are living. It’s a summer destination to Belgians and even to other neighboring countries like Germany and the Netherlands. People flock to the coast when the temperature is high which doesn’t really come as often here. The Belgian coast is a part of the North Sea which could still be a bit cold even during summer (well, for me it’s kinda cold).

I’ve always love the sea and islands and all related to it. I am a Marine Biologist and an Aquaculturist which is already obvious enough that I love water. Hehe... Although we visited the coast here, something in me is still longing for that tropical island and crystal clear water with corals and fishes and just how my life used to be in the Philippines and Malaysia. I am not really complaining about my life here, because I am still doing my profession, it’s just the environment is different. I used to SCUBA dive before, I used to work on marine conservation, doing monitoring and sampling. The sea was like an office to me in comparison to other careers, and of course we have laboratories and marine stations :)  It was an awesome job, though dangerous but I had a blast. Probably the down side for me was when we always do field work and being exposed to the sun. As a Filipina, we always admire fair colored skin. Being pretty to us is when you have a fairer skin and not dark. So I was always insecure being dark, but then I have eventually accepted that fact that I am brown skinned since whitening creams didn’t really work for me as I was all the time exposed to the sun. But then here in the Western part of the world, people find me pretty and they really love my skin color (though I’m not as dark as I used to be, thanks to the four seasons).

Now that summer / sunny and warm weather is not everyday anymore (not like in the tropics), I just tend to enjoy it and care less if I get darker, anyway the next cold seasons make me pale :) Though I still not a fan of just lying down and getting a tan the whole time because I don’t like how my skin hurts through long exposures. And 30 minutes in the sun is already enough for me to get a tan line. Unlike my husband who is so white and is so desperate to be brown, then he is enjoying the sun lying down.

Yeah, so here are some of the photos my husband took during our day out in the sea. The dress I am wearing is a gift from my dad from the Philippines (it’s locally made) when he and my mom came here last year. He really chose that dress for me. So what do you think? Does my dad has a good fashion sense? We’ll for me, I love this dress! And I love my dad... hehe :)

Streetstyle: Jumpsuit

This was my outfit when we went out to the Gent festival. It was such a warm weather and so my outfit is quite showing some skin :) Well my aim was comfy and light. This H&M jumpsuit I actually bought a couple of years ago, so you won't be finding this on the store anymore. It still seems new because I have just worn it a few times since. As for the accessories: New Look clutch, Michael Kors watch, Ipanema sandals, and the armband I just bought that day at the stalls beside the streets.

Hope you guys are enjoying your summer too !!!! (or winter on the other side of the globe)

Happy Sunday everyone!
Here's my outfit of the day... I am wearing a simple and pretty white lace dress from H&M. Light and comfortable to wear especially in this warm summer. In the morning we went to church since it's Sunday :) and we did this shoot after lunch. We just went to have this photo shoot in the park. It was also a nice and quiet place to relax and the shade of the trees makes it quite cool in there.

By the way, FYI: Today we have a new King in Belgium. The crown prince became the King after the old King step down from his kingship due to his health (old age). Well as we may say, long live the King! Long live King Filip!

Tie dye Skirt

This is my outfit of the day! I went to witness the Ghent Festival Parade this afternoon as shown on my previous post. I was such in a festival mood and this is the outfit I donned - a tie dyed skirt. I actually got it when I was in Ireland a couple of years ago. I really love it!!! (I just don't remember the store I bought it from) I think it is such a great look for the summer. It's very colorful and it's easy to wear, flows nicely with the wind and it's simply pretty. I then paired it with a tank top from Bershka and a sling bag from IAm. And as for my accessories, I got the necklace from H&M and my watch is Michael Kors. And the sandals I got from my mom (she brought it with her from the Philippines).

So what do you guys think of this look, yay or nay?
